PEACE: Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

By Christopher Hansen,

Rom. 12: 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

I have lived by this teaching for decades but many people do not believe I fully believe it to be necessary and proper. Vengeance MUST be left to the Lord.

It has come to my attention, by communicating with Joan Whitely at the Las Vegas Review Journal and re-reading the Editorial concerning the subpoenas of the RJ blog about the Kahre case, that this investigation by Greg Damm may be about possible threats against government officials and employees that are conducting the Kahre trial. If that is indeed the reason then I ALMOST support the subpoena because I agree with Editor Thomas Mitchell, “On the other hand, if someone were to confess to a real and specific crime on our Web site, I’d give him up at the drop of a hat.”

But I still cannot support that subpoena because it would have such a terrible effect on freedom of speech, especially anonymous speech. We cannot inhibit freedom of speech even if a crime was committed by some idiot.

The most threatening post that I could find on the RJ concerning the Kahre trial was:

Patriot2012 wrote on May 26, 2009 12:17 PM: Clearly…the time will come for WAR against this criminal US Government. They have changed the laws for their own good. I call out to all our Military branches to take over our government now! Otherwise…you along with the Police and other criminal depts will be in the line of fire when we march!

I do not know who wrote that blog, neither would I EVER encourage such a statement. But I certainly do not believe it to be a crime because of one simple phrase in that blog: “the time will come…” Therefore even this Patriot2012 does not believe that the time is now.

I do not, and never have, asked for our military to take over our government. They are the LAST people I would want in control of our government. That is a military dictatorship and it takes away all hope EXCEPT in the terror of what occurred in India when peaceful people were slaughtered by the British Government that had enslaved the people led by Mahatma Gandhi.

To anyone that supports violence or believes that it is somehow justifiable to take the law into our own hands, then I have only this to say: You sir or madame are as much or a traitor to the Christian principles that founded this nation as the people you oppose. Christian principles are principles of peace. We have been given the tools, by the Founding Fathers, to have a peaceful revolution. It is called Elections. We just threw out the Republicans without a shot being fired. (It didn’t help this time but that too can be changed PEACEFULLY.)

When my son, Joshua, and I had our TV show in Pahrump, last year, we had to tell callers many times, when they supported armed rebellion, that both of us opposed violence and told these callers how wrong it was to demand an armed rebellion. We said you can win in court and through the politcal process if you work hard enough. We TOTALLY oppose violence against governemnt officials.

Many people support an armed rebellion because they think they cannot fight city hall. I have been told you cannot fight city hall since I was 8, but those people were wrong. Here is a small sample of the proof of what I am saying:

In the year of our Lord 1998 the State of Nevada refused to allow my son, Joshua, to register to vote without a Social Security Number. Well we won IN COURT.

In 2002 AD, the government kicked my son, Nicholas, off the ballot but we went to the Nevada Supreme Court and Nicholas was returned to the ballot.

In 2006 AD the Govenrment refused to allow my great friend, Lance Hinton, to register to vote or run for office as an Independent American. So did we grab our guns and charge into the Clark County Registrar of voters office? Of COURSE NOT. We, like any freedom loving American that believed in the rule of law, went to court and WON.

Then, because the State of Nevada refused to arrest the man that I personally witnessed commit a felony, Larry Lomax, we, Lance Hinton and I, decided to FOLLOW THE LAW and make a private persons arrest. We told the County and asked for assistance in making the arrest. The County’s response was to drag me into court and ask for a restraining order. They LOST. As the LVRJ reported:

On Wednesday, a Las Vegas justice of the peace denied a restraining order sought by Lomax against Christopher Hansen, the Independent American Party state chairman and candidate for governor. Authorities said he has threatened to come for the county official….

[Hansen] said a District Court decision determined that Lomax broke election laws by preventing a fellow party candidate, Lance Hinton, from registering to vote. He’s frustrated that no law enforcement agency is doing anything about it.

Hansen said he also believed Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Tony Abbatangelo’s rejection of the restraining order Wednesday affirms his right to make a citizen’s arrest of Lomax, who was not present in court.

“We’re going down to arrest Larry Lomax. The judge just said we can,” Hansen said.

Even in an article in the Las Vegas Review Journalwhere the accused felon Larry Lomax and his ilk tried to paint me as a person who was threatening him with violence, I am quoted as saying:

“If you’ve ever kicked down a door before, it hurts your foot. I don’t want to get hurt,” Hansen said. “I have no intention of breaking down doors or breaking a window.”

When the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles kept me from trying to recall the Governor did I threaten the Nevada Highway Patrol officer with violence? NOPE. I went to the Chief Law Enforcement officer over election law, Secretary of Stae Dean Heller, and asked him to intervene. The Las Vegas Sun wrote: Hansen said if Heller’s office fails to act, he will take other legal action.

WOW! What a violent criminal. Once again I said I would take other LEGAL action.

And what happened when I asked Dean Heller to intervene? He did. He made a ruling that the DMV had to let us petition. This helped us in the Axe the Tax petition when, once again., the DMV and other government agencies BROKE THE LAW. Did we grab guns and storm government buildings? Nope As the LV Sun reported, we went to court and: “Democracy won and bureaucracy lost.”

The fact is that I am a peaceful person that believes in and supports the rule of law. That is why I am supporting the ACLU in fighting the subpoena demanded by First Amendment hating Greg Damm. It is because I LOVE the First Amendment.

Why am I a Peacenic?

The Book of Revelation says in Chapter 13: 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

I don’t want to be led into captivity or to be killed by the sword and I want to be a patient saint, so I have preached that we should work to change government in a non-violent manner since I was old enough to be a responsible adult (I am guessing 35?).

Dr Martian Luther King Jr. is a hero of mine. Why? Well they say a picture says a thousand words:

I quote him in the book I wrote, Testament of Sovereignty

Mahatma Gandhi is also my hero because he promoted peace against a violent government.

Because these people are my heroes several of my my own family members believe I am a deluded fool. Well if I am a deluded fool I am a peaceful deluded fool.

My good friend, Buffalo Jim Barrier, used to say I was the Dr. King of Nevada because I fought for the rights of the people but did it peacefully.

I was the State Chairman of the Independent American Party for four years. Many people interested in liberty would tell me that the time had come to give up on fighting peacefully within the system and to pick up our guns. I told them time and again they were WRONG! I often quoted the Biblical verse (above) and said that we were NOT to take up arms and that this last fight for freedom was in God’s hands, not ours. Our job was to live our lives in support of liberty but not to raise up arms against our own government. Refuse to do evil and God will do His part, is what I preached and preach. My actions speek louder than my words.

Since I am a Christian Latter-day Saint I am also restrained from violence against the United States Government in very clear terms in the Doctrine and Covenants Section 134 which reads:

5 We believe that all men are bound to sustain and uphold the respective governments in which they reside, while protected in their inherent and inalienable rights by the laws of such governments; and that sedition and rebellion are unbecoming every citizen thus protected, and should be punished accordingly; and that all governments have a right to enact such laws as in their own judgments are best calculated to secure the public interest; at the same time, however, holding sacred the freedom of conscience.

So why would anyone think that I am a physical threat or in any way promoting sedition or violent rebellion? Simple:

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our Founding Fathers used in the great struggle for independence. –Charles Austin Beard, 1874–1948

I quote the Founding Fathers.

Quotes like:

Section. 8. The Congress shall have Power To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

Or the Debates in the Federal Convention of 1787 reported by James Madison, August 16:
Mr. Govr. MORRIS moved to strike out “and emit bills on the credit of the U. States”-If the United States had credit such bills would be unnecessary: if they had not, unjust & useless.
Mr. ELSEWORTH thought this a favorable moment to shut and bar the door against paper money. The mischiefs of the various experiments which had been made, were now fresh in the public mind and had excited the disgust of all the respectable part of America. By witholding the power from the new Governt. more friends of influence would be gained to it than by almost any thing else. Paper money can in no case be necessary. Give the Government credit, and other resources will offer. The power may do harm, never good.
Mr. BUTLER. remarked that paper was a legal tender in no Country in Europe. He was urgent for disarming the Government of such a power.
Mr. READ, thought the words, if not struck out, would be as alarming as the mark of the Beast in Revelations.
On the motion for striking out: N.H. ay. Mas. ay. Ct ay. N.J. no. Pa. ay. Del. ay. Md. no. Va. ay. N. C. ay. S. C. ay. Geo. ay.
“This vote in the affirmative by Virginia was occasioned by the acquiescence of Mr. Madison who became satisfied that striking out the words would not disable the Govt. from the use of public notes as far as they could be safe & proper; & would only cut off the pretext for a paper currency, and particularly for making the bills a tender either for public or private debts.”

Greg Damm believes that such talk is a crime. He believes that quoting the Founding Fathers makes anyone that quotes them “a dangerous citizen.” He has proved that by arresting Bobby Kahre and Alex Loglia. He has proved that by subpoenaing anonymous blogs to the LVRJ.

Well the Bible says: Matt. 7: 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

My fruits and teaching have been peaceful demonstrations and working within the law to promote liberty. If that is a crime then arrest me and convict me because I am as Guilty of sedition and as violent as Christ was. So I guess I need not worry? Or should I be concerned that Greg Damm is as trustworthy and righteous as the Sanhedrin?
