Dallin H. Oaks hit the nail on the head with his comments at Harvard recently:
“My disappointment with these findings [of a national survey] only slightly reduced by Lawrence’s other findings and observation that on the subject of religion Americans in general are “deeply religious†but “profoundly ignorant.†For example, 68% said they prayed at least several times a week, and 44% said they attended religious services almost every week. At the same time, only half could name even one of the four Gospels, most could not name the first book of the Bible, and 10% thought Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife.â€
What can I say about saving America except to quote Thomas Jefferson, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and never will be.â€
“Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just.†— Thomas Jefferson
Yes that’s a nice quote. Too bad he supports our enslavement to to the new world order as prophesied in the bible because he has made statements in support of the federal income tax, which the founders of this country believed to be evil. Some of that tax goes to the International Monetary Fund, which is controlled by powerful and elitist groups who conspire to create a one world economy, controlled by them and by a very evil global head. Prophesied in Revelations. I do believe it, if you don’t maybe you think the book is just kidding.
Well he has the right to be as ignorant as the rest of Americans he called ignorant, does he not?
Sometimes the pot does call the kettle black.
BTY I meant you in the plural form, to the general population. I have no doubt you understand & believe it Christopher.
