When this reporter was first was told about Harry Reid giving Firesides at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I was told that the local Seventy had invited Reid to do several Firesides and not just one. I did more research and I was told, several times, that this was a one time thing and just at the one stake. But the underground word I kept getting was that several Firesides were planned.
In the Las Vegas Review Journal. today, buried inside an article about Chad Christensen, was the following:
“I’m a Democrat because I am a Mormon, not in spite of it,” Reid said.
Yet in late March, protesters threatened a demonstration and forced Reid to cancel a speech titled “Why I Believe” that he had been invited to deliver at a Mormon church in Las Vegas. The senator had already given one such “fireside” testimony in Southern Nevada and was asked to do five more, according to his office. But when word spread, Mormons who no longer support Reid objected.
This reporter finds it interesting that it was difficult if not impossible to find out from the local Church leadership that 7 Firesides with Harry Reid were planned. It is also very difficult for this reporter to believe that these Firesides were scheduled during an election year where Harry Reid is fighting for his political life.
I am proud to say that I was a part of helping to stop Reid from speaking because I fully support the separation of State from Church, not the other way around by the way. Reid promotes a Religion that is antithetical to any form of Christianity. He promotes the Civil Religion of Marxism. He promotes laws that are anti-Christ and Anti-Constitution. He is as evil a man as Mitt Romney or Orrin Hatch or Edward Kennedy or Barrack Obama. These men all walk upon the Constitution and support the evils of the IRS, Social Security, undeclared foreign wars and the Federal Reserve System. All of these evils are to create a calculated slavery upon the average American.
I will also say that never once did anyone that was in contact with Independent American News EVER threaten to disrupt Harry Reid’s Firesides. The only plan was to hold a PEACEFUL PROTEST on public sidewalks in front of Church property.
The REAL reason these Firesides were cancelled is that they were exposed for the fraud they were and the local leadership knew that it would generate very bad press if they were so foolish to continue. But the real reason is that such a controversy would HURT, not assist Marxist Harry Reid’s campaign. And since those Firesides had NOTHING to do with missionary work or inspiring people to be better and everything about votes, Harry Reid cancelled those Campaign Firesides.
