Santa Fe Discriminates Against Native Americans?

By Wiikwaji’o

All he wanted to do was to take his girlfriend dancing but Santa Fe Casino has a “Your Papers Pleaze” standard that would not allow him in.

Lance Hinton is nearly 50. His age could not have been in question but his identification was. Why? Because it was not “Standard.” Lance Hinton is a member of the Pembina Indian Tribe (as is this reporter). The tribe is a sovereign nation just like the Cherokee or the Paiute, although admittedly a lot smaller.

Located chiefly (ha ha) in North Dakota the tribe has a Chief. The tribe has treaties with the United States dating back to 1778 AD. and another in 1863 signed by President Lincoln. They have a Counsel. They have a traffic code. The even have an Attorney General.

This means they meet the legal standards for an Indian tribe in the USA according to the United States Supreme Court. Nevada even has a law that recognizes Indian Tribal Identification as coming from a “State.” But Santa Fe Casino would not let Lance Hinton into dance because his Identification card is from the Pembina tribe.

The Santa Fe Casino has an identity card scanner that Hitler or the NSA or any Secret Police would be proud of and Lance’s card did not fit into the scanner. Their scanner takes a picture of ALL the information on you ID card or driver’s license. They can KEEP this information on file.

A drivers license has enough of your personal information on it to be used to steal your identity. This identity card recording is DANGEROUS to your safety. Consider this the next time you are deciding what Casino you are going to go to relax a bit.
