PRESS RELEASE

The undersigned candidates for Governor of Nevada, unitedly protest their exclusion from the upcoming debates sponsored by 8 News NOW, The Las Vegas Review Journal and VegasPBS.

While the sponsor’s announcement stated their intent was “to ensure Southern Nevadans have the opportunity to learn about the candidates” they have intentionally and blatantly excluded 5 of the 7 candidates for this important public office.

Particularly egregious is the participation of VegasPBS, a public broadcasting station in these exclusionary tactics. Public funding should not be used to prevent candidates for elected office from receiving equal time in public debate.

We are making this matter known to every media outlet in the state of Nevada. We are considering our legal options and plan to file complaints with every source providing taxpayer funds to advance this event with such bias.

Sincerely,

Aaron Y. Honig

One Response to Republicans and Democrats Again Refuse to Debate

  1. ginny says:

It’s ABOUT TIME somebody complained about this blatant suppression of information by the media!!!! We need and deserve to know ALL the candidates who are running for any office, especially one as important as “governor”. Enough of accepting this “lesser of 2 evils” (translate: Republican or Democrat) as the only choice in every election. No known evil should ever be considered acceptable. And guess what? We know……..and we’ve had enough.
