A Richmond sheriff’s deputy has been placed on leave without pay after his arrest last week on charges of taking indecent liberties with two 14-year-old girls.

NC (NEWS RELEASE) – On April 24, 2011 at approximately 7:00pm, former Detective Sergeant Henry Thomas Cole was arrested by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and charged with Indecent Liberties with a Minor. After a first appearance, he remains in custody under a $25,000 secured bond.
Sheriff Ingram requested the SBI to conduct a criminal investigation as soon as he learned of the allegations against Mr. Cole. Mr. Cole’s employment was terminated by Sheriff Ingram on 4-24-2011 prior to charges being filed by the SBI.
