In Michael K. Casler’s letter to the editor entitled “Parties don’t seem to deserve support”, he points out the Republican party and the Democratic party both are causing deficit problems. He then asks, “Now, please remind me again of which of these wonderful parties I should be supporting”.
In Nevada, we have 12 other parties that he could support. 3 of these parties have ballot access. The largest of these 12 parties is the Independent American Party which has 17 candidates running in this year’s elections. In the Nevada Senate race in District 1, there are only 2 candidates. One is Gregory Hughes, an Independent American Candidate, and the other is a Democrat.
For voters like Mr. Casler who are not happy with the 2 party system, you can make a difference by voting for one of the other political parties in Nevada.
