The Good News is that Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass. said that if IRS employees choose not to cooperate that:

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) today offered an amendment to prohibit the IRS from receiving any ObamaCare funding that would otherwise be used for implementing the massive health care law. Heller offered the amendment to the 2013 Senate Farm bill just one week after introducing the legislation as a stand-alone bill (S. 962).

“I am deeply troubled that the IRS has been improperly targeting conservative groups. Public distrust in this agency is already at an all-time high, so providing the IRS with more power to enforce this flawed health care policy makes no sense. For these reasons, I have offered the “IRS Accountability Act” as an amendment to the Farm bill. Simply put, right now, we can’t trust the IRS to do its job,” said Senator Dean Heller.

The President’s budget requested that about $440 million be diverted to the IRS for the purpose of enforcing the President’s health care law. Considering the IRS is under increasing scrutiny for targeting conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, Heller has led the fight to stop additional funding. Last week, he sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and introduced the “ IRS Accountability Act.”

Lois Lerner, the director of the exempt organizations unit at the Internal Revenue Service, plans to invoke the Fifth Amendment during her expected testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Lerner announced her plans to plead the Fifth during her testimony in a letter from her lawyer, William Taylor III, to the committee. “She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course,” the letter addressed to Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) reads, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Since she will be pleading the Fifth, Taylor has asked the committee that she be excused from testifying. The letter from Taylor states that her testimony would “have no purpose other than to embarrass or burden her.”

The Wednesday hearing would have been Lerner’s first public appearance, and first under oath, since she apologized for the IRS’ inappropriate targeting of conservative groups at a May 10 American Bar Association meeting. That apology was planned ahead of time by the IRS, and came in response to a planted question.

Wow! Is this not amazing…if true? The IRS was blatantly violating the First Amendment!

During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing today, Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., grilled outgoing IRS commissioner Steven Miller about the IRS targeting a pro-life group in Iowa. “Their question, specifically asked from the IRS to the Coalition for Life of Iowa: ‘Please detail the content of the members of your organization’s prayers,’” Schock declared.

“Would that be an inappropriate question to a 501 c3 applicant?” asked Schock. “The content of one’s prayers?”

Coalition for Life of Iowa found itself in the IRS’s crosshairs when the group applied for tax exempt status in October 2008. Nearly ten months of interrogation about the group’s opposition to Planned Parenthood included a demand by a Ms. Richards from the IRS’ Cincinnati office unlawfully insisted that all board members sign a sworn declaration promising not to picket/protest Planned Parenthood. Further questioning by the IRS requested detailed information about the content of the group’s prayer meetings, educational seminars, and signs their members hold outside Planned Parenthood.

Once again we have more evidence that the IRS IS a religion or at least a part of The Religion of Socialism.

This is why it is NEVER appropriate for a freedom practicing people to tell the government ANYTHING. It is none of their business UNTIL you ask the government for a benefit. No organization should ask the government for tax exempt status. They should just not volunteer in the first place.

Wake up folks. You CANNOT ask for liberty. You have to TAKE IT. NEVER obey a law or regulation that harms liberty. It is our duty as Americans, as per the Declaration of Independence, to through off tyranny.
